Nike has also announced they are donating $40 million over four years to the black community. Michael Jordan quickly addressed the protests against police brutality. “We must listen to each other, show compassion and empathy and never turn our backs on senseless brutality. We need to continue peaceful expressions against injustice and demand accountability.”
Jordan has previously made to donations to groups that help improve relations between law enforcement and the black community. Moreover, he has pledged $1 million to the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s Institute for Community-Police Relations. Michael Jordan has become one figure that both sides pay attention to, so he hopes that they can listen and hash out the differences and find the best way to improve relations.
