Businesses continue to feel the pressure from the economic downturn. This is leaving the community looking for ways to help those businesses.

Blackhawk Bank doing good for small businesses while showing appreciation for their employees

Recently Blackhawk Bank purchased more than 700 gift cards from local businesses in the Wisconsin and Illinois area, totaling $23,100 in gift cards.

“We know how tough the past few months have been for all the communities that we are a part of,” says Dave Adkins, president, and CEO of Blackhawk Bank told Beloit Daily News.

“We wanted to show our support for local businesses during an especially challenging time, and purchasing gift cards for our employees to their favorite locally owned store or restaurant is a way we can give back.”

The excellent news is Blackhawk Bank employees are stepping up during this time of uncertainty not just to help their clients in need, but the entire community. The employees have helped local businesses secure nearly 800 Small Business Administration PPP loans. They also are upgrading the online and mobile banking experience for their clients, while following health department guidelines.

Blackhawk Bank always stepping up when the community is in need

Blackhawk Bank is not new to helping those in need within their community. They have provided Meals on Wheels volunteers during this time. The bank has been working with Meals on Wheels since 1994. The employees would deliver meals to those in need.

They have also recently started calling seniors to help ease their isolation and loneliness. The volunteers from Blackhawk Bank also delivered weeks of meals to the seniors in case Meals on Wheels had to shut down temporarily.

Now is the time to really help those in need and make sure they have what they need. Businesses like Blackhawk Bank are stepping up and doing just that.  Share your thoughts and comments in the section below.
