Engaged couples are feeling the hardship of the current situation in the country. Many canceled or changed their current wedding plans. One company has stepped up and is helping those facing these issues within Rochester.
Many weddings delayed or canceled
Carter Evans and Kate Wagner faced a similar situation this year. They canceled their 200-person wedding over health concerns. Moreover, they were only a month away from their wedding date when everything was turned upside down.
After dealing with their situation, they found Curated Love: The Pop-Up Wedding Project. Lea Countryman and Casey Stevens run the pop-up project. Moreover, they knew that similar pop-up weddings organized big in other cities, so they wanted to bring it to Rochester. Countryman and Stevens live in Boston, so they knew it could work in different cities.
Curated Love doing good for the Rochester community
They ended up re-booking everything Evans and Wagner needed for their August 1st wedding. Their wedding package includes everything they would need. They also now offer Zoom and streaming capabilities for those who can’t attend in-person.
“It’s going to be really different,” Wagner told Spectrum News. “But, having just our closest family members present with us [will] allow us to really focus on the people closest to us.” “We wanted to be able to come in and just take all that stress off their shoulders,” said Stevens. Moreover, these pop-up weddings follow social distancing rules that are in place to ensure everyone stays healthy and safe.
While they can’t all be together, Evans said it’s good that their friends can still watch online. It’s good to see companies helping people in other communities. Especially engaged couples who were planning on getting married but were forced to delay it.
