Mercedes Suarez could not believe it when she got her new motorcycle. Alamo Cycle Plex gifted it to her after the business learned of the theft of her old bike.
Mercedes Suarez, a licensed vocational nurse at Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe, assisted living facility, found her 2004 Kawasaki 250 Ninja stolen in April. She had reported the crime to the San Antonio Police Department. Officers from the department found Suarez’s bike later, but it was damaged heavily.
Story Moves Cycle Plex Owner
Mercedes Suarez’s story received local coverage. Alamo Cycle Plex owner Dave Sears heard her story. The fact that Suarez belonged to the medical fraternity also motivated Sears to do something for her. He helped out by gifting Suarez a new 2019 Kawasaki 400 Ninja worth $5,300.
Suarez’s story has now become national. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” featured the remarkable act of kindness last Thursday in its online segment. The show is also highlighting people who are “stepping up in their communities.”
Story Goes National
In a video sent to the show, Local nurse Mercedes Suarez said, “We appreciate you showing off this story to the world — what our nurses and frontline workers mean to us. We’re just glad that Alamo Cycle Plex here in San Antonio, Texas, could help.”
“Talk about a super sweet story,” a description on the show’s YouTube account says about the Good Samaritan story.
